Hey everyone,

I'm a web designer from San Francisco, and I'm also new to these forums. I was wondering if you all could give me some advice on a design/site I created and took live for a client.

http://homewarrantyresource.com/

I like the overall design, especially when it was just a photoshop template. After the client asked for clipart in the right hand column, and other business I found the feel of the site to be a bit distracting. There are definitely parts of the design I would like to change.

People on these forums seem to have a good eye for design. Does anyone have any specific advice or changes they could recommend to me? Thanks in advance!

They like it so far, which is good. I'm just unsure if I want to keep it this way despite their consent.

I personally like it, nice combination of colours, although I would personally place the vertical bars in the blue area between the menu links, as the whole menu looks as just one item.

I think it's visually appealing.

I don't get the disposal picture on the right.
And there's no link that leads to more information on it.

Nice design.
this is a my suggestion : if you can add a footer to bottom of the page you will able to add more footer links.

If a static website is what you are going for, then it's a good website and design.

Hello,

You seem to have a pretty good start. I'm not sure on your overall web design / development experience. I really do not like how you have the footer setup. With the clients request about the clipart honestly, that is out of your hands. They are paying you to create a website the way "THEY" key word here is "THEY" want it. I understand you might feel bad because you as the designer know better then to add some tacky clipart on a website but, they are the ones paying. I personally feel you do what the client requests - no matter what! The website looks great overall. Keep up the work.

Looks great. The menu with the links at the top doesn't seem to line up quite right with the vertical lines (I'd remove them). Also the footer would make the site seem a bit more framed and complete. As is it just seems to end, without anywhere for your eye to really grab and realize the home page is complete.
