I'm having a problem putting text over a layout that I made. Here's the layout. These are the areas where I want the text to be- it's what I want the coded site to look like.

This is the layout. Stylesheet. The layout is 800x500 pixels (widthxheight).
What I need help with is:

1) How to the put text in the areas shown in the image in the actual coding. I don't know how to code it to have it be displayed the way I want it.

2) How to put body text (the part where the lorum lipsum text is at) on the layout. After the layout ends (after the 500 pixels), I can put text but I don't know how to start before that. The body text would be located about 300 pixels from the top of the layout image.

I can do the above just fine if I wanted the layout to be positioned to the left and not centered, but I want it to be centered in the browser- that's what's making it difficult for me, is that I don't know how to position the text when I'm centering the background image.

Please feel free to ask for clarification if you need it. Thanks for the help

Your layout can be achieved with divs and CSS. Your backgrounds should be specified as the background selected divs as needed. I would advise NOT to use a single image of the full design as a background as that would be seriously limiting.

How to center the site - read our stickies: http://www.webmaster-talk.com/css-fo...r-website.html

all you need is some basic CSS and HTML. try any css/html tutorial out there. it's pretty easy stuff. find a good css/html tutorial and you shouldn't have any problems. w3schools is a good source for learning this basic stuff

Why not add the text directly to the graphic image?

Too easy?

That's a really BAD idea, totally inaccessible - to people AND search engines!
