I have a custom-made site – product catalogue. It includes description and assembly scheme as well as the picture of the final product. The programmer I worked with before disappeared, and I need to add a feature for emailing catalogue and product specification.

Can anyone advise me how to do it without serious changes in the site structure? (I was told that it is usually quite a complex work).

Why don't you try hiring a developer who can understand the work up to done?

It sounds to me like you want to set up a mailing list for your clients, is that correct?

If that's the case, it shouldn't be too difficult.
