Need help for private family history/photo site. I used a template for the actual site. When someone goes to the site, on purpose or by accident, I want that the first thing that pops up is the plain vanilla username-password page for sign-in. Can some knowledgeable soul give me some hints on how that is done? Appreciate your time and your help.

actually having a login box pop up immediately is the best way of NOT getting visitors to your site.

Why should they trust you with their details?
How do they know if what they are looking for is past the login box?

If however it truly is private and nobody is ever going to find it "by accident" then it's not a problem.
But we need to know what the server technology is and what server side code you can use.

So if it is truly private. "by accident" is not something you want to happen.

Hence my statement of;
