Does anyone here have a calibrated ICC profile for a web designer?

Adobe has many ICC profiles on their site. Is that what you're looking for.

Well... I have downloaded the Adobe ICC pack. I don't think the color profiles are wrong on my monitor, it the gamma.

I just downloaded Quick Gamma to see if I can resolve the issue but, I'm starting to get complaints that things look "to dark" from a customer. They look fine on my monitor...

I'm kind of worried that my gamma is out of whack.

Any suggestions?

Are you on a Mac? I think the colors on a Mac are generally brighter than on a PC so if you're designing on a Mac and your customers are viewing on a PC they may see things a little dark.

I've never been all that good at calibrating my monitor. I don't know why, but it always confuses me.

I just looked at the site in your sig and it doesn't look dark to me. I assume you designed it on the same computer you're using now.

This is the site in question.

http://storagebuildingsunlimited.com/SBU/index.php

They wanted it dark however, they feel it's too dark. I agree but, they think it's REALLY dark. Too dark.

What does it look like on your monitor?

Looks fine to me. Everything is completely legible. It is a dark site, but I see that it was designed that way. It's either their monitor or perhaps when they said "dark" they just meant not white? Honestly, its fine. I can't see what they are complaining about (no pun intended)

It's definitely a dark site, though it's hard to say if it's too dark or not. We might be seeing it differently and I have no idea what the client asked for.

I'm not sure if this will help, but I grabbed the color of the red on the left and right arrow images. I'm seeing it as #8d211e. You should see it as something different. That should give an indication of whether or not it's darker for me.

Actually, it looks almost exactly the same when I checked it in photoshop.

I'm not sure if this helps, but thanks vangogh.

I'm not sure it helps either, but here's what I was thinking. When you created that image you obviously assigned it some color I guess in Photoshop. I'm thinking you didn't use the hex color I posted above since we're probably seeing colors a little differently.

Because I grabbed an image we should be able to compare the hex # you see for that image and the one I see.

If the hex code I posted is a lot darker than the original one you assigned to the image then I am seeing the site darker than you intended. If it's very close to the same or even exactly the same then your monitor and mine are showing colors about the same.

What was the original hex # you used to create the red left and right images?

That's a good theory. I think the problem may be their monitors. Not to awfully long ago, I myself had a monitor that would barley pick up certain patterns.

I am using Photoshop and the color is #83120e

Thanks again.

Photoshop is profile aware ... the last time I looked, and it's been some years, web browsers were/are not.

Forrest I was checking the color in my browser. I used the ColorZilla extension for Firefox. I figured we could compare and see if the color Denny used in Photoshop on his monitor looked darker through my browser.

Does my theory hold up? I admit it's guesswork, but I swear it sounds good in my head.

Comparing the hex #s they seem pretty much the same. If anything I saw the color a little lighter.
