I figured skinny is the way to go, as people still use 1024x768 alot and don't bother changing their resolution.

It looks good. It's clean, and organized. I really like the zigzag bottom. I noticed the 'ad space' for rent at the very bottom. You probably won't find anyone that would want to advertise at the very bottom but you can always grab a banner affiliate add off an affiliate network and if it get's clicked you get paid. Never a bad thing.

I'd do a curl, perhaps a tracert and report more info but I'm honestly sort of tired right now...

You can use the Firebug Firefox extension and run the Net tab to see what script is slowing the load.

Yeah the site randomly goes slow every now and then, I'll be getting a new host soon.

I like it. Its not stuffy and obtrusive enough to make me hit [X]. I actually scrolled through all the way to the bottom. Its good. But since I have been on the look out for a kick arse WordPress template, what you have is good, but Its still missing something. Just my opinion of course.

Most are designed for 800x600 display settings because it's the lowest common denominator.

I think the site looks very nice. It is well put together and I think it's a job well done for a beginner!!! Good Work!

pretty neat job for a first timer...

personally i think its one of the better layouts i have seen
most are very hard on the eyes but this one i can handle even before coffee and the use of blues and greys is nice
there is enough contrast to make it interesting but not so much it makes your eyes want to bleed
for a first attempt and coded entirely from scratch i say well done!

Not bad for a first design . . .good job.

A few things. The colors are all pretty dull and dark. You need to create some contrast.

For example in the header the blue isn't easily read because it's dark.

And I think the gray is a bit overdone in the sidebar (adding to the dullness).

Overall it's good for a first try. . .keep it up . . you'll never stop tweaking (no one does).
