I've not heard of pmachine before - but if it goes along the same lines has GreyMatter or Moveable Type then i presume you just edit the templates to make them look like your site including all the tags needed to generate the code on those pages?

I could be totally wrong.

Yea, i presume so. However be careful while editing with dreamweaver - as you might delete tags that are essential but you can't see. Also keep back up copys of original templates and such, so that you can always go back.

Blogging programs like GreyMatter (Moveable Type is alot more complicated) have simple pages that are made up of a few tags that you can paste (using dreamweaver if preffered) into your current design HTML. From there you can tweek them to suit your needs.

The best way for me to solve my problems with blogging was just to experiment, that way I really learn the script i was working with.

Good luck!

If you don't touch the serverside only scripts and are carefull with editting without losing the (hidden) tags it should be no problem i guess. Unless it's run by another company/server such as a free service (and i don't mean free script).
