Oh boy.. I live in Nashville.. would be nice to go, but at $1200-$1400 for the conference and workshops.. no way I can afford that !

Well.. it IS a worthwhile conference, certainly relevant. I really would go, but my company won't pay for stuff like that, even if it is directly relevant to my job.

I think you and I are going to have to agree to disagree on that one. I look at it like this...good conferences and good products/services promote themselves and are usually found. They don't spam forums (especially at the volume these guys are) to find us.

It's probably one of those conferences where someone like you might learn 1 or 2 things, but certainly not enough to justify four digits.

Yes, I would agree with that. Maybe a little bird will whisper in the ears of the organizers...

...and probably commit suicide when the organizers send him 10 million "daily update" newsletters because he accidentally dropped his business card with his email on it and the organizers assumed he "opted-in".

Anything that starts with "You've read their books" and then talks about people I've never heard of before (or even people whose books I've read!!) is AdvertSpam.

But...they're all big names! Big names! Just because you haven't heard of them and neither have I and neither have all but a select few of us doesn't mean they're not big names!

Yes, most of them are big names in the web industry and most have been around for quite some time.
