I've recently been given an old Mac, which I need to use to create and test my sites one.
I use XAMPP in order to test my PHP scripts and design my databases. For some reason when trying to access XAMPP through Safari, I get a message similar to:
Quote:
The page cannot be diaplayed because no connection is available
[or something similar]
As I dont have an internet connection for my Mac, is there any way to set the browser to work offline?
I am soon to install Firefox on it, hopefully that will work!
oh i forgot to say that I had been typing http://localhost, but it doesnt work.
also, i havent told it to start apache as i never had to do that on my pc, ill try that!
Ive tried starting everything from the control panel, but it just comes up with a message at the bottom saying something like 'You need to start XAMPP as root!'
I don't have a clue what this means?? It doesnt make localhost accessible anyway.
