hello all,

i need help with linking a banner to a website.

here is what i have so far, this is the banner:

You can't wrap the link tag around a SWF, you have to embed the link in the flash (invisible button).

You shouldn't use the <embed> tag either, it will cause IE people some problems.

i embeded the link into the flash. it currently works now, but on ie, i have to active the control before i can click the banner. this must be because the <embed> tag? how should i code it without using the <embed> tag?

it's swf not gif or jpg.

Exactly right, it's because of the <embed> tag.

In the HTML forum, there is a sticky that has several solutions for putting your flash into a web page w/o <embed>. My favorite is SWFObject.
