That is what the text on the page says when I was searching around to
find an easy wysiwyg program to make a website.

I'm sort of a newbie affiliate marketer and I was searching around for
a website builder and one of the recommended ones was nvu. I tried
that and it's not very intuitive (to me, anyway).

Then when searching around how I came across one that basically says
what I put in the subject line of this post.

It's supposed to be called site-rubix.com but when I go to that site,
it isn't released yet apparently. I gave my email and I got back an email
telling me about the features and drag and drop (sounds GREAT!) to me
since anything else I've tried just isn't as easy as I'd hoped.

So, i'm rather long winded here I guess, but I'm wondering if anyone has
any advanced knowledge of this because it aint launching until oct 9th
it says.

I don't want to wait if it's going to be a waste of my time

If anyone here has any clues I'd welcome the information and it's at
www.site-rubix.com

I have no previous knowledge of the site you linked to, but chances are it's not worth whatever they're going to charge. I wouldn't trust a site that requires you to sign up for an email address before telling you what they're product is all about.

If you don't want to wait till Oct 9th grab a free template online or install WordPress. Either can give you a professional looking site in little time and minimal effort.

The only way this editor is going to give you a site in under 5 minutes is if you're choosing from ready made templates. Otherwise it's going to take you longer to come up with the design in the first place.

That's not necessarily true, Steven. It says "a professional website" in under 5 minutes. It could be some precompiled made for Adsense site or one of the cookie cutter one-page everyone-gets-to-be-rich-so-quickly-that-the-second-ice-age-will-come-before-any-of-the-poor-suckers-see-a-buck variety.

I'm gambling on the latter, and the reason is the link on the very bottom of that site-rubix.com page. I'd be willing to bet money that the "professional website" will market some scam in the same vein as the Wealthy Affiliate scam above.

James: what I'm getting at, in a roundabout way, is that the "site" will be some generic get-rich-quick scheme that won't actually get you rich, never mind quick.

Good point Adam and you're probably right. Either way I think we both agree you're not going to get your money's worth with this site.

Kyle I'm just seeing the home page when I click on the link. I'm guessing you might need a cookie to get the further details. Other than letting you know about the newsletter what else did the page say?

No, that's the thing. It just shows the home page with that little gray box on it, saying:
Quote:
"You have just signed up to the Site Rubix Newsletter and will receiving some great FREE resources in the coming days... ".
You don't need a cookie to see that, I tried it on my laptop. Anyway, the fact that only that shows up tells me it is most definitely a spam site.

The page reloaded for me upon completion of the form as well...this is weird.

Let's see what's in the email:

Quote:
Hi (fake name I just put in here),

Are you sick and tired of building websites? Has your inability to create websites been the thing holding you back from generating an income online? What if we told you that you could build a website without needing any knowledge of how to build a website or HTML?

We fully understand that building websites can be a painful task. Unfortunately building websites is just as painful when you are a seasoned web developer as it becomes a very tedious task to build another affiliate website or to set-up a site for a brand new product/campaign. What we're saying is that regardless of your experience level, designing a website that will convert into sales takes a lot of time and expertise.

What would you say if we told you that we are about to shake the conventional website building process to pieces? Well we are. We also despise building websites, but we have to in order to continue or profits. It literally takes hours out of our days; hours which could be spent on much better things!

We have spent the last year working on this project and have created the most powerful website builder you will ever see. You can literally whip together websites in minutes with Site Rubix (instead of hours)! The time spent on building sites is now much shorter, and guess what, the websites will look a heck of a lot better than they ever have.

Site Rubix = Professional Websites + Time Efficiency + More Money

Do you have issues with building sites, wish you could throw sites together quicker, or are completely scared of html? Maybe you have clients that need sites built, or maybe you want to be able to build sites quickly so that you can sell them online.

Well on October 9th, 2007 at 11AM EST you will be able to! Whether you are new to HTML, or you have years of experience, Site Rubix will be the only tool you need to create sites.

Keep your eyes open because we are going to continue to reveal more information about Site Rubix and we have a big surprise coming in the next couple of days!

Cheers,

What a crock of crap that one is. Don't get sucked in cloudsifter. Nothing can replace good old-fashioned effort and hard work.

So tell me.
What is the best website builder site to simply drag and drop and paste with great looking and plenty of templates to choose from? Presently use tripod.lycos and want something flashier?

CJ I couldn't really tell you since I build my own sites by hand. If you want a really quick site grab WordPress and install it and find a theme you like. It's a 5 minute install and it will take you about 2 minutes to change themes once you find one.

Also flashier does not equal better. Flashier just equals flashier.

If you're serious about running sites learn some basic html and css or hire someone who already knows. If you're looking to build good sites that add value to the web the time or money you invest in learning to code or hiring someone who does will be well worth it.

If your goal is to build as many sites as you can and see what sticks then it really isn't important to create custom sites. There are thousands of free ready made templates or themes you can add to a variety of content management systems that will get you a site quicker than creating your own through a WYSIWYG editor.
