Auto Security Database

In this download database you will bind listings for companies that offer the following types of services relating to auto security: Burglar Alarm Systems & Monitoring, Auto Glass Coating & Tinting, Custom Car Parts & Accessories, Alarm Systems Dealers, Fire Alarm Sales & Service, Security Systems & Services, Auto Alarms & Security Systems and Auto Closed Circuit Television Equipment & Security Systems.

A car alarm is a device attached within a vehicle with the purpose of detecting unauthorized movement to the car. When this happens, the alarm emits a high pitch sound alerting the car-owner.

Vibrations or specific unauthorized interaction with the vehicle can trigger an alarm. Because of this sensitive nature, many car alarms are falsely set off. Large trucks passing by can cause vibrations, and interactions can be caused by people weaving in between cars to get somewhere.

Due to many car alarms being set off accidentally, many people have become numb to the sound of the alarm. They see them as more of a hindrance rather than help. The NYPD claim it is actually making crimes worse in the sense that because nobody reacts to car alarms; no one cares about the neighborhood.

More cars today are being fit with immobilizers that can immobilize the car rather than sound an alarm if there is unauthorized activity near the vehicle. Tracking systems can also be implemented which track the activity of a vehicle should it be stolen. Motorists pay a fee for this service whereas immobilizers come standard with many vehicles today. Although these two standards help hinder the process of stealing a car, they do not account for possible destruction or vandalism of the vehicle.

Two-way pagers are another form of security, which act remotely inform the driver of unauthorized or unlawful activity happening to the vehicle. They inform the driver in the same fashion as a beeper and some even have LCD screens to pinpoint the specific activity happening to the vehicle.
