I've installed IIS 5.1 on my old computer and made a virtual directory adding the files that I wanted. I can right click and browse the site fine but I cannot connect to the site from a different computer.

I did not change any property settings.
I've tried going to http://"myIP"/sitename from the hosting site it works but not on my other computer. Did I host it wrong or viewing it wrong? Thanks

Are you using the public, or private IP address? PM me the address and I'll take a peek.

http://127.0.0.1
http://localhost
should work and would lead to firewall issues

With the IP address you PMed me, it isn't connecting. Looks like a firewall issue. Make sure that port 80 on your router is forwarded.

With the server name you are trying (http://localhost), that isn't going to work from another computer. Localhost points only to the local computer that you are using- it's called a loopback address.

So, right now, it looks like a firewall issue.

1. Post your remote (wan address) so we could try to connect to it.
2. Did you have a firewall installed? Hardware firewall or software one?
3. Did you open the port / forward port on your router config page?

These are just a couple of things you should have already done, and double checked.
