I recently started up a shop at bigcartel.com, so my website is myshop.bigcartel.com and I put up a cname thing at my dns-host domain.com. No problem there. I go to myshop.com and end up on my bigcartel site. I wanted www.myshop.com to go that site too (that's how google displays it), so contacted my dns-host and they put it up for me, but when I typed in www.myshop.com I would get myshop.bigcartel.com in the address field. I thought I could solve that by opting for the 'url forwarding masked' option, but I did something wrong somewhere and now end up with a 404 - site can't be found. When I clicked the unmasked option again, nothing changed (since yesterday).
So, can somebody please explain to me how I would get www.myshop.com to forward to myshop.com through my dns-host domain.com? And is it possible to do this masked or is that what's causing the problems? I contacted my dns-host again, but the person who was helping me is a bit of a fail... not that I know what I'm doing, but I at least I don't pretend to
