Hello Friends!

I have my game website and from last year i am working hard for it! My daily traffic is about 300-400

visitors, from which 30-40 are direct visitors.

Today i saw Google analytic report for my site, and found 146 direct visits from a single location. A

couple of months ago the same happened two times. I got 266 & 76 direct visitors respectively. I checked

the country & location in report and found that it was from United States & California in all cases.

I don't understand what's this! Is some one trying to hack or something else my site? OR what can be the

possibilities?
Please help me i am so worried!

1. It might be a search engine bot crawling your site, google doesn't crawl more than 10-15 pages on my site though.
2. Someone might be scraping your site.
3. Some people in an office took a fancy to your site and all of them are using it )

Max, it may be as simple as someone hijacking one of your images. Sometimes programmers steal bandwidth by hotlinking to an image or sometimes they do it by accident.

Can you show us the logs or any details on this so we can help further?

Sounds to good to be true, unless your SEO is coming into play...?

Aren't visitors a good thing?

California is a huge state. Are these all from the same IP address?

Please provide some logs. Without more information all we can do is guess as to the real intention of your traffic.

Sometimes people would post your links on their website and you get huge traffic. I had that several times. You can always check the log to make sure.

If they are all from the same ip address they are either trying to intrude or a search bot. You should be able to look at your web stats and find out exactly what is going on.

One time I found that another site had framed one of my games for use on their site. Everytime someone played the game they were using my resources but I was not getting real traffic from it.

If the problem continues you can always block the ip number from viewing your site. Once when I had a SPAM problem I blocked most of an Asian country for about a year. They block us all the time so I felt no guilt at all.
