subdomain on different host?

Hi

I've read this is possible, but need a newbie guide to get things set up.

main domain - mydomain.com already on a windows IIS server
But I want to have a subdomain - subdomain.mydomain.com hosted on an apache/unix host

how would i go about this?

You just need to set up the DNS records so that the subdomain points to the new host.
