I haven't messed with this program yet for adserving because I have been taking the simple way out and using the older phpadsnew version that is still being used with fantastico.

I am thinking of installing OpenAds to use now. Are the extra features and upgrades worth the time?

I use it. It's not that much different than phpadsnew. Just a new name.

Agreed, I have used them both for some time and I am pleased with it. I don't use any of their extras.

Yep, I've used them since the phpadsnew days. Definitely the best ad management system.

Thanks for letting me know about the new name. I didn't know they changed name, I just thought it was a new company or something as I have heard about OpenAds on a few forums this lately now.

i had installed but not really used phpadsnew and have now installed openads. i'm finding it easier to use but may be from having been exposed a bit to phpadsnew. haven't used it enough yet to decide if it's overkill or not. i'm using it right now to rotate adsense with AM ads. i may end up switching to my own ad-rotating script but for now, openads is good enough and has advertiser reports (which i dont think i'd write with my own script)
