Does anyone happen to be interested in sharing some rackspace to save on fees?
I'm not making anything off this, the idea is simply get enough folks together that the price of space and bandwidth is lower for everyone.

The datacenter I'm looking at going with is MultaCom ( www.multacom.com ); they have an excellent track record and knowledgeable techs (I've been on a shared server hosted there for a few years now and have never had a problem). I've worked out some low rates with them if we can fill 10U of rackspace. (PM me or post here for more details.)

MultaCom can provide hardware if desired, or you can Fedex them your own.

There are already a few people involved with this; one of which is an employee at TomsHardware ( www.tomshardware.com ) and has experience running and maintaining a web host; he is about 25 minutes away from the datacenter and can perform maintenance on server hardware if for some reason MultaComm can't.

If you want to use your own server, you will be responsible for setting up the software on it.

If enough folks are interested, it's possible we could setup a shared server or two (virtual private or otherwise...).

Comments, questions... post here or PM me.

--added-- I can provide sufficient proof of identity and will do so for anyone seriously interested
