We had hosted our network of sites and my clients' sites at an unmanaged server from EV1 for several years. The day-to-day management was getting to be more than I could handle, and the server needed to be upgraded so we started looking for a managed provider.
After actually signing up and starting to move over to one (highly recommended) we found the support wasn't nearly what we were promised. We cancelled our account just shy of the "30 day guarantee" and kept the old server for one more month.
Then someone recommended ServInt to me. I had seen their site before but honestly thought they were smaller than they really are. We asked a lot of questions (though most are answered in their FAQ) and eventually signed up.
They promised the server would be setup by the next week, about 5 days, which was fine with us. Then they surprised us and had it setup and ready to go the next day. During the setup and configuration process, I had some questions so I called their support phone number.
I got an answer on the first ring – by a real technician!
They helped me get the server tweaked and installed some software I requested (like APF firewall and some additional logging and anti-ddos tools).
The few problems we've had have been resolved insanely fast. I don't think the phone has rang more than 3 times without a technician answering. A dedicated server technician, not some customer service rep or shared level 1 tech - a knowledgeable tech.
It's not cheap, but the server is insanely fast and reliable and their service is the same. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who needs a solid managed dedicated server. |
