Are there vulnerabilities in Blogs .One of my friends said he got his blog hacked by someone And it was posted you have been hacked on his latest post. I wonder how it was done ?? I am normally very careful and dont give out my password to anyone.

SQL injection mainly. It's very hard to do it with passwords.

A lot of people think they got hacked via the script, but a lot of the time it's a keylogger or something.

Blogspot blogs should be harder to hack by SQL injection. Older Wordpress versions and bad host can be quite a bummer if someone tries to hack you.

You should always keep your blog software at up to date. Old versions contain well documented security risks. Other than that, backup often, turn of unused options..

It could have been a cPanel vulnerbility, my friend's arcade site got hacked and his hosted lied to him about it. His server had the cPanel vulnerbility and the guy got full root access and did stuff to his sites. He has patched it now though.

Change your passwords regularly, make them difficult, and maintain all security updates to any software.

that is not guarantee 100% safety, but it eliminates the majority of sussessful hack attempts.

even Google's blog got hacked, they were apparently using a password that had something to do with microsoft

haha make a insane password with a lot of numbers that way it'll be hard to brute force it.

I've had a handful of older Wordpress installs running 1.5 over the past few months. Insiduous thing is that is the hacks inserted invisible links rather than a hacking message.

Point is clear - remember to keep your software updated. Just about to do that now on a couple more installs...
