Not great. And for certain site types not an option. But coupled with a .tk or .co.nr domain mirror and a remotely hosted free forum like proboards or Invision Plus, its makes for a good free hosting option.

Not bad. I wouldn't use it personally, but for someone looking for minor net work, it's fine. Drawbacks aren't even that bad, except for the 500 kb File Size Limit. That is very very low.

Well, most standard images are fine. Just no mp3s, wallpaper, or arcade games. But what do you expect? its free.

Exactly. Bringing back my "You get what you pay for". I still can't believe PHPBB hosts a forum that big. They must have expanded somewhere along the lines, because if a forum is that big, why wouldn't they go with VB? VB would be so much better IMO. PHPBB is said to be very hackable, so with a userbase that big, why would they risk that? Sorry for changing the subject, but it just hit me.

Feel free to split this post of for thread continuity but I can answer this. phpBB is hackable if you don't know what you're doing. If you install php security, run updates, and fix the bugs that come with them, then it works out nicely. Lots of people for example, are insecure because they didn't correct the XSS error in the current release. But, when you take the correct precautions it can be very secure. And when it comes to paying vB sucks. Its a good piece of software, but its more expensive than IPB while still being inferior.

Free hosting is good for testing purposes - it saves your bandwidth too Nice link mate - used them before - no complaints
