Until now I have only used blogger blogs but I want to set up a wordpress blog now because of the features it offers. Now since this is the first time for me to buy hosting and I'm not expecting a huge amount of visitors I don't want to risk a lot of money. Ideally below 10$/month. It should offer the possibility of hosting several domains on it though and of course have a low downtime. Any advice for a beginner?

I can tell you from personal experience that HostGator is an amazing host provider. They have pretty inexpensive hosting and they offer the ability to list unlimited domains off their baby package and up. I would recommend hostdime.com. I currently host 3 sites there and it hasn't gone down on me once.

I use Liquid Web and personally think they are the best host at least they have been for me and you can call them and get a person within like 30-60 seconds it is awesome.

I have to give another vote to hostgator. After being frustrated with many a host, I finaly found one that seems to be good.

Whatever you choose, don't go with Globat (run away fitnawake, while you still can). They seem to have good prices but my experience with them was horrible. They will try to scam you out of your money when your contract ends. They automatically renew at a much higher rate, they will tell you you cancelled your hosting and then bill you... Reviews all over the internet will explain further.

i just had my site go down for the second time in 2 weeks... MySQL issues every time. 1And1 sucks, I dont care how cheap it is. I might still use it in the future to host images, just because of the amount of transfer (500GB) I get for the price ($4.99/mo)
