I've heard good things about hostgator. I'm currently using dreamhost and it hasn't been too bad. Their control panel sucks, but my sites haven't seen a lot of downtime. I have the shared plan. I can get a coupon for $50 off the first year if anybody wants it.

Ditto on HOstgator. I have 2 acounts ith them. Host all my domains with them.
Never had a problem. Love the Fantastico interface. Ver user friendly.

Check out site5 too, they are pretty good and have ruby on rails support and are very cheap.

I would suggest Site5, (mt), or Dreamhost...

I use dreamhost but they're servers have been having issues lately.
