I use The Planet and have been doing so for some time now. I have 7 dedicated boxes with them and have enjoyed the support and quality of service to date.

I've actually decided to diversify here... I got 1 box each at EV1, The Planet and Soft Layer. So far, all 3 companies are doing extremely well support-wise. But I do find that Soft Layer and Ev1 has better support especially since I'm half way around the world.

With The Planet, it seems they only have quick support if you are in the same or similar timezone as them.

I'm currently on the hunt for a preferred host, EV1 is at the top of the list currently with The Planet a close second. I need to do some major upgrading and consolidation, I have stuff spread out in too many places on old crappy servers.

I've been with kualo.com for a while and have been very happy. I have a fully managed dedicated server and they have grown with me and always provide good solutions for me. They even configure my software when needed.
Very very good company.

Right now I'm with PowerVPS as mentioned in another thread. These guys are really great. I signed up with them a few weeks ago and they call you by telephone to verify your order. Their tech support team is also one of the best on my list of hosts that I've been with.

Before that, I was on a reseller account at HostGator which wasn't too bad. They disabled some time-saving features in WHM that I really wanted but it wasn't a big deal.

And before I was with HostGator, I was with Site5 which was a disaster. If anyone is considering going with them, I'd recommend that you run far away from them to save yourself some headaches!

I have a server at ThePlanet, and in the two years of having this server I haven't had one spot of trouble at all. Excellent service.

I think the only service to rival ThePlanet would be RackSpace

1&1 for me. Good prices and I've never had any problem with them.

How's their support? I've heard a ton of horror stories from former 1&1 customers as well as current customers.

Never had to use anything but email support wich was very good. Had an answer under 24h (under 12h in 2 out of maybe 3 times I had to use it).

As for the phone support, my spoken English sucks way too much to use that so I couldn't say

I use a small orange hosting.

I've noticed that, above all, they have excellent customer support.

www.nexcess.net all the way. I have 5 fully managed dedicated servers with them, and they're by far the best host I've ever dealt with. I've been able to grow my business so much faster now that I don't have to worry about server issues.

I also use The Planet for my two servers and I have always been happy with them, but some of their staff are really non-supportive sometimes, while some is totally excellent and do whatever you want.

I will stick with them for sure, their prices and packages are nice too.

I am currently hosted with Need-Space.co.uk. They have almost 24/7 live chat support, and amazing speed/uptime. I currently am on a reseller from them. It handles all of my websites, so I don't plan on moving onto a dedicated server or a VPS anytime soon.

Thank You,
Donny

I've been with HostGator for some time now, but I will be switching over to owning a fully dedicated server very soon from LayeredTech.

Don't really have a preference. All I want is the host to meet my standards. if they have good uptime and quality support, I'm happy
