I would like to Know if it is possibile to change a Web Host that is presently hosting a Website for me Presently and still retain the Domain name.
If it is possible ,I would like to know wat the process is like.

It can be a pain, but you could do it. The proccess sounds easy, but may give you a headache. Your first step would be to get your new hosting account, and set it up to match your previous site. Then you're going to want to either transfer your domain name to a new registrar (varies based on who registered it for you) or point the DNS settings in your current registar to the IP for your new site. It will likely take about 48 hours for more of your users to start seeing the updated DNS listing and to start going to your new site. You'll probably want to keep the old site up for at least a week during this proccess.

most DNS resolves within 24 hours now, root dns servers are bigger and refresh quicker.

You don't really need to keep the old site up for a week, old dns records don't " hang around "

It all depends how aggressive the caching is on the DNS server that the individual user is connecting through. Yes, most DNS update within 24 hours. From most places I've conntected to, it has been closer to 6 hours. However, it does no harm to leave the old site up for a week "just in case". If you see that you're getting 0 hits on the old site, then you know that at least 99% of your users are seeing the new site, and you can probably take the old one down. I'd say plan for a week, but you may be able to take it down quicker. It's always better to plan for the "worst case scenario" when doing something like this.
