Hiya folks.

I have been spinning all day trying to find a solution or even a discussion about this issue less than 3 years old. Not to mention, I can't find a forum for Horde web mail. They seem to be the only Open Source community that i've seen without a forum. /rant

So below you'll see some imagery supporting the issue I am having. Apparently Horde has a default structure for it's Trash, Junk, Drafts, and Sent mailboxes. They don't seem to work well with Mail.app. So when I press delete, I get the dialog below (pic 1) telling me that the Mail.app Trash (“Deleted Messages — GDL3D”) doesn't exist on the server. Rather it wants me to MOVE the items I would like to trash to the subscribed Horde Mailboxes appearing below the inbox in Mail.app (see pic 2).

I am trying to link the mailboxes in Horde to the appropriate mailboxes in Mail.app. If this can't be done. It won't be a good thing. We are about to rollout a new hosting service for our clients and many of them are Mac users. They won't really be using webmail all that much, though the structure of their mail application cannot change from what they are used to. In other words, their Delete button needs to work and their sent and draft items need to work as well.

Below is the interface for controlling the mailboxes in Horde. The issue here is that it places each of the mailboxes below the inbox, rather than creating a mailbox above inbox. I attempted to create a mailbox in Horde called “Deleted Messages — GDL3D”. This didn't allow mail to put the deleted items in that directory either.

Let it be said that I am not that tech savvy and going into the command line intimidates the hell out of me. This is the reason we are running Plesk -Which I love btw. I am just hoping that someone here has experience with Horde, and perhaps has come across this as an issue. I have access to unix gurus and programmers who can adjust the code if necessary, I am just wondering if I can offer them any direction.

If anyone can assist me in this, I would be extremely grateful. Google turns up some old info that doesn't really explain a solid solution. Plus the users who attempt to address the issue are running (OSX) Jaguar.

If anyone can assist me in this, I would be extremely grateful.

Server Running:
FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE
Horde3.1.4
Plesk 8.12

Thanks.

Dan

Well hell Yes!!!

I figured it out. One can create the folders/mailboxes you need in Horde. They will appear in the account inbox inside Mail.app. like in Pic 1.

PIC 1

Then you can tell mail to use those folders/mailboxes as sent, junk, draft, and trash like in Pic 2. The selection for this is found in the Mailbox drop-down. Mine is grayed out since I have already allocated the function to the Horde folder/mailboxes.

PIC 2

I am just glad I can document this in case someone else has this issue. I hope this solution makes sense.

Have a good one.
