does anybody use hostgator...Is it good or not

I use the baby edition and it's amazing. It has ton of features as well as very nice customer support (which basically sold me). I was between 1and1 and hostgator, but hostgators customersupport helped me a lot. i use it to host all my sites, and so far theres been no downtime! haha . any other questions?

I use them for one of my sites and i can't remember having a single problem.

I've just read the thread about HG and how their support solve problems, I think that demonstrates a lot.

Two thumbs way up for HostGator...

As far as I can tell, there is a lot of confusion when it comes to rating (reviewing...) a host.
If you are an advanced user, then you may not even need the support and find HG great, but if you are running a website needing a lot of ressources then you may say HG should be avoided.
At the same time someone running a small "family & friends" website on the same server with no more than 10 uniques / day will find them great...
That is why I read contradicotry posts about them all the time.

Have seen few not so good reviews of late, but overall hostgator is supposed to be one of the better shared hosts around.
