When you host it, you need to look for a web hosting provider that will be able to supply you with the necessary features that your website will require.
The questions you have to ask yourself is:
- How much space will your website need at first? How much do you need to grow?
- How much bandwidth do you expect the website to use?
- Are you going to need PHP4 or PHP5 / MySQL (Linux)?
- Are you going to need ASP/MSSQL (Windows)?
- Do you want a control panel (cPanel [and/or WHM], Direct Admin, et al.)?
- Do you need subdomains, databases, e-mail accounts, ftp accounts?
I currently run
Holdfire Network, and have been since 2005. I offer shared and reseller hosting accounts. These accounts are on linux based servers and include cPanel and/or WHM control panels. You receive unlimited features like MySQL databases, e-mail accounts, subdomains, and more.
Shared hosting is a term used to describe an account that is generally just one domain with a control panel, that currently shares the server with other users. You will receive one main domain with cPanel, but based on other packages you can have add-on domains.
Reseller hosting is used to describe an account that has the ability to create their own personal hosting packages, and reseller their webspace at their own discretion. With us you'd be able to create an unlimited amount of cPanel accounts.
Our basic plan starts at $40 annually (through PayPal) and includes 3GB of disk space with 100GB of bandwidth with cPanel. You can have 10 add-on domains, with unlimited subdomains, MySQL database, ftp accounts, e-mail accounts. Also includes Fantastico De Luxe (you can use this to auto-install various scripts) as well as AWStats, Webalizer, Horde (webmail), Roundcube (webmail) and much more.
Otherwise we have monthly based accounts that range from $8/monthly, and $12 monthly.
Hopefully some of that helped you out?
