Hey peeps... I've been looking at registering a second hosting package to host the media for my website (pics and vides) as my bandwidth is too low... Already another topic on that issue...

But I found this site that looks pretty good:
http://www.hostmonster.com/

Would you recommend that, or does it not look reliable etc?

Well if it's only for the bandwith it should do just fine, unless you have a very demanding website that needs a higher speed.
You should check websites hosted there and in other similar hosts for download speeds and preferably use a tool like www.iwebtool.com to check the speed.

I still think you're best taking one bigger plan (either from your current host, or some other host) rather than hosting your site across two providers - economies of scale, plus you only have to work with one support team, billing system, control panel etc. - seems like you're making things more complicated (and more expensive) for yourself?

I disagree about the value in using that tool... if you were going to use anything of that nature then Alexa is probably somewhat more objective; the above tool will give you minimal feedback for a specific site (from one particular network location) at one instant in time.

It would only have some validity if you expected your visitors to connect to your site from the same connection as used by that site (presumably just their server in their datacentre). Given that they'll be using a completely different kind of connectivity, from a different location (perhaps even different countries) it doesn't show anything like a useful/accurate picture for you to base your decision on.

Tools like this are ok, but it's important to understand the methodology used to collect the data and how it compares to "real world" scenarios.

Another obvious issue that is easily overlooked by such a tool is the complexity of loading/generating the target site. If you test a database intensive site against a static HTML site there's every change the static HTML site will be received much quicker; you can't tell what work the server/host is doing in the background to generate the page you request, and this may invalidate the results with respect to your own intended purposes (e.g. since you would only be looking to serve files straight from the host, not performing any processing etc.).

I tried HostMonster and wasn't all that impressed. HostMonster is owned by BlueHost, which I like better.
