* shakes his head *
You've got a list of the top hosts, and nowhere to be found is the greatest host of all, Sectorlink?
That's not an affiliate link either. That's straight-up customer satisfaction talking right there.
I get my questions answered (and those of you who know me know that I can throw some real tough questions out there).
The server has gone down exactly once in the last 3.5 years (it actually wasn't the server either...it was the pipe if I recall correctly.)
They just upgraded my bandwidth pipe at no charge to me (shared T3 to shared OC3...so not a small upgrade!)
I've been with them 5 years. 5 freakin' YEARS! How many hosts are even around that long these days?
So yeah, your list needs another entry and it should have Sectorlink right in the #1 position. These guys are the BOMB!

I think that there is no BEST !
Some hints:
The biggest companies are not the best
The cheapest are not the best
If you have good budget go on a quality hosting company,
do not search for extra cheap, overselling company with low uptime
and other thinks like that.
See their hosting speed, uptime, and support.
This is the most important things. Don't go on the biggest
companies like godaddy, ipowerweb and others. They are not the best.
There is small companies that will you satisfy you better than the biggest !
Don't take the minimal and extra cheap webhosting service,
this is not the best quality, also can see about 99.7% uptime, which is not the best on the cheaper and cheapest companies on the internet !
Take a hosting plan for your needs, not for best price and high features (the hosting plan)
Regards,
Zdravko

The only features that i would limit are Space and bandwidth. There is nothing wrong with unlimited domains on an account.

Very True. When they provide dedicated ip to each a/c. My friend, who is in US, signed up at globat, some OFFER(?) price. After gaining some knowledge about IPs, SEO, etc.. I did a reverse ip look at his domain http://www.genexint.com. Believe me, there are 18## domains in that IP.
He has a resellers panel a/c too. There are only 9 domains (6 of 9 are his own) in that a/c.
So, i tend to find a better (not best) host provider.
Off Topic : I work for him.

There is nothing called as the “best” webhost because a host which will be good according to you won’t be the same for another person and there are always mixed reviews for all the webhosts so it is hard to judge which is the best and in which terms.

hey everyone , first thing first i love this site already . and this is my first post.
Currently i am using sartlogic, powweb and host monster and dot5 and globat for my sites. I will rate powweb and startlogic the better ones for small amount of money and preety good Customer Service . i also like the softwares they use for the site stats and their CP, and to submit your site to the free directories.
Hope its ok.
Thanks

Yes, I agree with this completely.
Different people have different needs, and also different budgets. If you're looking to host a personal site you're likely to want something quite cheap, you wouldn't want it going down all the time, but you can put up with a small amount of unreliability.
If you're looking to host a commercial website of some kind, you want maximum uptime, stable performance, and are quite likely to be willing to pay a bit more to get this level of quality from your hosting provider.
The other consideration which is sometimes overlooked (sometimes isn't important, depending on where your priorities lie) is where your site will be phyiscally hosted - e.g. US/UK, or west coast, east coast etc.
This will impact loading times/speeds depending on the location of your visitors (particularly with consideration to your target audience) and therefore can be important. In a similar way, I've seen a number of posts from people who dislike ThePlanet, and therefore wouldn't want to host their website in that datacentre - regardless of the host itself.
Lots of considerations, even aside from "which control panel", "what version of php", "do they offer 24 hour support" etc.
If you're looking for a hosting provider, you need to make a list of the factors that are important to you, and then begin hunting for a suitable provider.
Recommendations and reviews are very useful as a starting point, but never forget that someone else may have completely different criteria and needs to your own.

For me the best hosting is hqhost.net. I'm satisfied with this company and going to be with them for a long while.

I definately do not think there is one "best" host out there. Every host no matter, large small, old, or new has its PROS and CONS. When buying hosting you need to consider is more bandwidth worth your money more or is it the extra 5 or 10 gigs of hosting space.
