The best hosts that I have found, and the ones that I use to host me, are available at
LMWebHosting
and
Hostone
Latest technology, Apache Servers, Plesk Servers, SSL, VERY reliable, I've never gone down yet. These guys know what they're talking about.

Hi DaveTodd,

I just checked out LMWebhosting, and I must say that they strike me immediately as expensive. Apache and Plesk servers aren't the latest technology; in fact, I think that most people detest Plesk, lol. When I saw their cheapest plan (with 100 MB space and 1 GB transfer/month), I immediately realized that the average user would really only be able to use up around 30 MB with the low transfer allowance. Also, their forums have a grand total of 0 posts. Reliable? I don't think many people use them in the first place. Also, their site design is poor for any professional and reliable host. I wouldn't quite trust them.

As for HostOne, I've heard good things about them, but there are certainly much better hosts (also very reliable) that offer more than they do. Those sites also use Plesk servers, so I don't really know the difference.

I've been very please with www.hostway.com so far. Good customer service. Two months so far and zero down time. Using the MIVA shopping cart and PHP. Speed is acceptable. I have very little to compare it to but a friend recommended it. What do you think?

No, I don't work for them. Please tell me who has MIVA, PHP, and 24/7 phone support. I'd be happy to shop around. I'm here to learn and help others, not advertise.

Note: I consider good support by phone one of the most important ingredients.

Are you the same person as DaveTodd? I think NeVeR was talking to the original person of this thread. I'm a bit confused here?

nah, i don't work for them. but i do know the owner. i got a customised package for myself because i've known the owner for a while. thus far i've had 100% up time, customer support instantly upon request.
the forums i believe have only just been uploaded very recently, hence the lack of postings.
lmhost work in conjunction with hostone, they have purchased servers from the hostone collection. thus they should theoretically have the same uptime. the only variance is the customer support, which i've found to be a tad better at lmhost, but then that could be cause i have the owners private AOL IM address
with the custom package that i organised, it gave me everything i could need to get myself sorted and my web presence built. it took some convincing to get it going, but i've never looked back. i wouldn't consider changing, for cheaper prices, because i know the support wouldn't be as good as what i get at the moment. if you ask real nicely, you get an "emergency" fone number, which is the guys personal mobile, thats how committed they are to giving you 100% in the services they provide. i don't work for them, not gettin paid for this, have no other reason to say it, other than its true, and i've found out myself through expierience

Well no I really don't have enough time to work on them all which is why most of them are not built but I will. I just take it one step at a time. LOL.

Did I also mention I am a mom to a little boy?

No the link didn't work but I fixed it for you.

Use this code, minus the spaces:

blah

And if you want music notes to appear in your post you can use this but it only works if the user has Webdings on their system. I do. ¯ ¯
