That sounds great and all - but what backbone do you place a personal server on - a home Road Runner connection? - don't you need support from a major pipe if you have half-way decent traffic coming in?

I just signed with StartLogic. They charge $5.95 a month for their "ProLogic" service, 1,500 Gig storage, 15,000 Gig transfers, 24/7 support, unlimited domains...

I signed with them Monday, it was crashed on Tuesday, and the 24/7 support wouldn't answer the phone or live chat. And on top of it all, the server keeps adding my domain in front of every external link (Which gives people a chance to check out the custom 404 page I worked so hard on), and the won't handle a live video stream.

But on the bright side, they had a deal for transferring your domain @ $2.95 a month.

I pay $5mo to ahosting.biz for 500MB of disk space and 5000MB of bandwidth.
