(I hope this forum is relevant to my topic but theres no server forums)

I want to know how to speed up Apache. I want to know all techniques. Everything.

I want to know the do's and don'ts for high speed Apache.

Code:
My Server has 512MB Ram.

My Server uses no ram for display memory because I use a video card.

I use a seperate Hard Drive for my server.

I use another seperate Hard Drive for my virtual memory.

I also have a 3.06GHz processor

I also use Windows 2000 Adv. Server SP4.

I am not aware of such techniques but server upgrades ( CPU - maybe is time to switch to dual ? , RAM ) can boost up your server performance.

There are many books on the subject. I suggest you find one that interests you and read it. There is no cut and dry way to "make apache faster". There are way to many variables. It depends on how apache was compiled for your machine, what modules you have loaded, running PHP? MySql? These things all need to be optimized together, optimizing Apache alone will only get you so far.

It also depends on what you're willing to sacrifice, you'll need to find the balance between speed and security.

Your server, unless it's just for development, is nowhere near powerful enough to run as Windows OS webserver.

Dual 3G CPUs (XEONs) & 1Gb would be a better spec as a minimum

You don't have to have powerful and expensive servers to beat Google. They used computers that have 256MB of ram and network them together. That all makes since like for MySQL it doesn't matter how big your hard drive is it would be more better to have it accross multiple hard drives. If you have enough cheap computers networked you could have a search engine like google

And that has to do what? with your question? Where does the "beat Google" come from.

Google doesn't run on Windows, so doesn't need high spec hardware and the OS they use is a specially written version of RedHat Linux that is designed for clustering.
Clustering is where many machines are connected together in such a way to allow them to run as single unit and share processing tasks between machines.
Neither do they use MySQL.
