I shall explain situation so far.

I have given my computer a static ip and got static ip from isp. Here are my details:
Router says:
ip address - 86.128.132.191
Gateway - 27.82.32.86.140

It is configured to forward traffic on port 80 to ip address 192.168.0.34 which i have set using windows as a static ip to this computer with apache installed (only)

Router gives range 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0..32 to other computers on network

Internally http://192.168.0.34 shows apache page with all my files but doesn't open index.htm

Externally, this doesn't work
http://86.128.132.191 gets the same page externally, nothing internally
http://27.82.32.86.140 gets nothing internally or externally.

Other than the above, i have done nothing else. How do i get dns setup so i can give it to my domain provider? And... How do I get it to load index.htm?

My computer, as of yet, isn't allways on so link above will not work if i am not online.

Thanks!

Also router menu hierarchy is like this:

I've done this before, and there are a few gotchas to look out for. It looks like you've got most of the stuff done though. This site helped quite a bit when setting up.

There is a link on that page somewhere that tells you how to get a dns running (I forget off the top of my head).

As for the index not showing, make sure you have your index file located in the htdocs folder in your apache folder (default). If you want to change it, change your apache configuration so documentroot points whereever you want.

http://192.168.0.34 is the LOCAL ip address of your host machine, meaning this is the address that is internal to your network. 86.128.132.191 is the ip your router shows the world. By forwarding port 80 to 192.168.0.34, you're telling your router that whenever a user types in 86.128.132.191 (or your domain name when your dns server is setup) to forward that request to your machine with 192.168.0.34 as its ip.

The site I linked has all the info you need to set everything up, though by the sounds of it you've got most of it done.
