Internet Turnpike says its minimum term is 3 months.

I signed up to run a couple of short-term sites and paid through PayPal.

I cancelled both accounts after the 3 month minimum.

Internet Turnpike ignored the cancellations and debited my account for the fourth month.

So now I'm probably going to be stuffing around with PayPal for months before I even get a sensible response, let alone a resolution.

I won't use Internet Turnpike again.

Sorry you've had trouble with them. I've honestly never heard of this company before. Have you tried speaking to them yet? It could very well be a timing issue, especcially if their billing is automated and their cancelations are manual.

You should be able to stop payments to them via Paypal. However, AFAIK it's going to be very hard (most likely impossible) for you to convince Paypal to give you your money back, as they don't allow "chargebacks" for intangile "items".

Internet Turnpike = http://www.internetturnpike.com

I've allowed for it being a manual versus auto issue, but to avoid any problems I gave them a few weeks notice of cancellation so they had ample time to get their accounts in order. It just seems like another one of the endless places that capture our credit card / whatever debit authority and go off the air when we want to cancel it.

I'm not worried about the money: US$2.97 (which is what I agreed to pay) a month x 2 sites ain't going to bankrupt me.

I'm not worried about chargebacks with PayPal, nor really that wound up about stopping future payments so far as the money is concerned. Maybe that's what places like this trade on.

I just object to places that get you signed up in nanoseconds but never seem to be able to cancel the debit on your credit card / PayPal / bank account etc. In short, I don't like being ripped off.

If I actually get a sensible reply from PayPal I'll rush out into the street naked yelling out to my neighbours to sign up for PayPal, but I'm pretty sure my neighbours won't have to confront that particular nightmare. Then again, that's just the jaundiced view of a long time eBay seller and PayPal user.

A bit further away. Melbourne. Australia, not Florida.

I know.

But there's a Melbourne in Florida as well as in Australia. The air fares from Chicago, or anywhere else, are very different, as are the climates.

I have to record that PayPal has been outstanding in this matter.

Sent a couple more emails to Internet Turnpike asking them to cancel subscriptions, with no result.

Filed a compaint with PayPal.

Issue resolved and full refunds for overcharges within a couple of days.

Internet Turnpike must be very scared of PayPal.
