What's the point in having more than one IP? I've seen many companies offering 10+... why?

Some Functions for a website (i.e. anonymous login) require a dedicated ip address and not a shared ip address like most hosting.

You'll usually get multiples IP's with a reseller hosting account. This so so you can setup nameservers and offer your customers a dedicated IP address.

Hi,

Yep the two reasons mentioned are good ones, it's also rumored that search engines check the IP addresses of sites for their reciprocal linking checks and give less or no credit to links from the same IP (even if from a different domain.) Sometimes having the extra IP addresses is important if you're building a network of sites that you plan to link together to help boost your search engine rankings. Having each site on a unique IP can help a lot with the process.

Regards,
