I’ve been using Hostway for the past four years, reliable.
I wanted to include PHPbb on my site (or any type of Forum application) and they told me i need to upgrade to their Linux Gold Plus program which is $21.95.

Do you guys know of cheaper host service that is *reliable* , support PHP MySQL and is cheaper ?

How come you need to upgrade, have you tried installing the board does it not work? If you could list your disk space and bandwidth requirements that would be great!

It appears that Hostway doesn not let you use PHP on any of the lower end packages. Only the "Gold Plus" plan supports php and it's priced at 19.95/month. Their site says that PHP is optional with the "Gold" plan and you'll need to pay an extra $10/month for mySql.

I say if your happy with hostway and don't mind paying $20 a month. Your better of sticking with them.

Otherwise, there are better deals out there. I've heard good things about Duport, and you may want to check out our plans as well.

I'd check out StartLogic at www.startlogic.com. Their cheapest package handles PHP and includes a PHPbb plug-in. I added a SMF board that uses PHP for a client and didn't have any troubles.

id try my hosting, cheaperwebhosting.net....they includ all the phpbb, and the fantastico!!lol....cheap too
