Hi,
We are compiling a black List of Bad Host, if you have had a bad experience with a host and would like them to be considered for inclusion, please submit them to:

Can anyone add to your list, without furnishing proof? What proof do the posters have to supply you? Do you have a check and balance system? Are hosts given an opportunity to respond if they find the post to be inaccurate?

These are very important points, as I have noticed in many reviews of hosts that alot of times its just a client who is upset with the company for canceling thier account even if its the clients fault.

Yes, of course all of these points are good have we have thought about them. It is not yet fully set-up, but here is what we intend. A webmaster would submit a host for inclusion to the list, the webmaster then receives an email with a link to a questionnaire, after the questionnaire has been submitted the host will get an email informing them that they have been submitted for inclusion to the black list (at this point they are not yet on the list). They are given an opportunity to view what has been submitted and make their own case and or resolve the problem with the Webmaster. This information would be reviewed, if no clear determination can be made the host would stay on a pending list for 4 months, should no other similar complaints in the host name be submitted they would be dropped from the list without ever being shown on the public list. We are setting this all up now and are checking for interest from webmasters or hosting companies. We hope this would be a means of mediation so to speak, not damage a hosts good name do to an angry banned client. If you have any other ideas or points to consider please let me know.

I can see this system very open to abuse. Sorry but I just don't think it is a good idea.

Yeah I aggree with 1000rpm. People seem more keen to bad mouth instead of talking about the good.

Web Sites have problems.

The biggest problem is people who usually have a good host don't always go talk about it. Most of the time the people with the bad ecsperance are always running around tring to plant a bad seed. When all it was, was something small.

Just a thought that blew by..

No it can be done as this web site actually contacts the web host and gets their side of the story and they also sign up for accounts with bad reports on hosting companies. Its all how you handle it and what kind of reponse and investigation you do. the web site is http://www.mybadhost.com

I think every Hosting company try their best to provide good service & support to the user. If a customer face some problem from a host provider it is not necessary that other customer might face same problem from that particular host provider.

I think instead of pointing out bad hosting company a special suggestion forums should be started where we can openly place our views. The representative of particular company should also participate to put their reply and they should aware the members about the course of improvement they are going to implement.

Agreed ! with euk-damien we all here should try to findout a solution; which should not abuse anybodies dignity. Because everybody tries their level best to offer and provided service as everyone want to grow and to be best in his/her feild. Instead of pointing bad hosting companies name, we all should discuss our experiences and take suggestions to improve it will help us to grow as a community.

i know its a bad example but 'one rotten apple spoils the whole bunch' .... just because one or two customers have had a bad experiecnce does not mean the company itself is worthless.

a suggestion forum would definitely be a better idea....
