I'm REALLY peeved at my hosting company. I used to get a ton of virus-filled spam at my webmaster address (no way to block harvesting of that address - I don't have it listed on the site, but spammers automatically send mail to webmaster@site.xxx
They finally installed a worthless piece of junk called Spamvault. I set it up to block executable attachments. Turns out that if you do that, it also blocks JPEGs and .doc files! So, consulting clients were sending me emails that I never got.
There's no way to set different rules for separate email addresses (so, for example, I can't block attachments on the webmaster email address but allow them at my work address). There's also no way to block executables but not block docs and pictures!
Does anyone use a host you like that has a reasonable way to protect against viruses? BTW, of course I keep my anti-virus program on my computer up-to-date, but we all know that isn't foolproof.
