I have an account with 000webhost.com and now with one of the websites: http://www.captjuelshurricane.com/ has a self induced pop-up from the web host itself. Any takers on how to remove this?

The forced adverts are the price for 'free' hosting.

Pay for a REAL hosting account without adverts, or live with it!

000webhost.com says that they provide free hosting without advertising. I imagine it to be true since they've been around for quite a while, so there is probably another reason why you're getting that pop up. I don't get any pop-ups on that site. Did you try loading the site on another computer? Maybe you've got some adware/malware on your computer?

You won't be able to remove it as its a free service.

Actually there's no ad and you have a decent hosting. I already tried it, but you don't really have many features. I also suggest you, like all the people above, to rely on a paid hosting.

I tried 000 webhost and it really annoys me with their ads and the need to post to their forum. So I Google and found some host which are really good with no force ads. not only that they also allow me to keep my own ads. so just try google out for new host.

Instead of a free hosting, you might as well go for blogger.com, its free reliable and the best. I know a guy who invested $1 on his site and now earning lots.

you can read about how he do that at www.9lesson.info

I liked his idea, and I used lots of his tutorial in designing my site.

I used them a few years ago to try and host a forum. Well that didn't work out long as the mysql server would restart every hour. They may be okay to host static sites. But anything with a database, I wouldn't try it.

I know 000webhost. Service is good. But sometimes the server loads too slow and users will not be able to access the website .

You cannot expect much from free hosting. 000webhost provides considerably good hosting for the price.

Boy howdy, we got a new small business client today that had a site with 000webhost. What a mess, every time I went to a new page a large ad banner covered the page...and she wanted to know why no one was purchasing anything from her site.

They're cheapskates and think that they can make money without spending any.

Because they are not willing to spend even the relatively small cost of a hosting account for their "business".
