I know how that feels, but when I had that problem with one of the web hosting companies I purchased hosting from, I contacted their support team and they were kind enough to transfer my files to another one of their servers ( no extra cash required ) .

The only problem I had with HostGator, was constant slow-loading pages. That's the reason why I canceled my web hosting plan with 'em, . If you want to read about past experiences of customers using HostGator, there's a section in their forums which shows feedback from their customers. I'm sure you can use their search function to attempt to find something similar to your issue.

Pretty much any decent world in the host has better hosting than goDaddy.
Their domains are decent and cheap though.
I'd go with either HostGator or MDDHosting. Tried both with awesome experience.

Godaddy are great for domain names and it stops there....Forget hosting with them i once had a VPS with them and it was nothing but problems.As mentioned by a few hostgator have a good rep.I have a few resellers accounts with them and never had a problem.
Who ever you go with try get a 30 day deal money back that way you can judge for yourselve what the service is like.

I completley agree.. Hosting with godaddy is a headache waiting to happen imo. What I do is register domains through godaddy and host my websites on host gator.

Don't ever pay godaddy any money for anything ever they were one of the companies that supported SOPA I am boycotting all their services for ever and you should too.

Not all big companies are good.

OP - not all big companies are good. What I look for in a good host is not the price but how responsive their support is. When I have questions or problem with my site, I want answers. I don't want to wait for days to get a single response. I know time is money and I am not going to waste my time on lousy support hosts. just my 2 cents.

I too have been seeing a lot of previous customers boycott them because of the whole SOPA ordeal. What made it worse was they thought they could stop the flow of customers leaving by making it inconvenient on customers to transfer out by making them have to write letters to them to transfer out.

Lets hope they go bankrupt!

That is the reason why NOT to go with them. 5000 page views (not even 5000 unique) is absurdly low. You'd run over the limit almost instantly in many cases by noon daily!

I used justhost.com once and they were very good in their services

I am currently using DualRack, and I never had any problem with them. Their support is very quick to respond to any queries you have. I highly recommend them.

It depends on where your focused on getting traffic from.

Seeing that he had a US based host in the first place, it should be assumed he is getting traffic from the US.
