I found out that it has a feature for archiving and unpacking zip files and tarballs on the server.

My guess is that 90% of what most people do with SHELL commands is simply that. So maybe Cyberduck offers a nicer interface for that common task?

Opinions?

I have never heard of them. What I can recommend you:
1. Ask them for some test accounts.
2. Do the search for their domain name. Read more reviews.

Or they are new?

Fvckin hated it. Try filezilla, recursive chmod is a neat feature. Since I only use cPanel servers, filemanager handles archives on the server...

I have very short knowledge on Shell commands. I think Shell commands may change in syntax and usage from one type of shell to another. In c shell Use the man command to see how a command is used in a particular shell. # command to Marks a command. alias command for Displays alias. bg command for Resumes job in the background.and many other commands are there. So you can ask them for some test accounts.

Looking at the GUI on some of the screenshots, it looks rather clunky. I am sure it would work with my VPS though as my VPS is made to be compatible with almost every FTP client.

FileZilla works for me right now so I don't see a need to migrate.

It's probably the best free FTP client for Macs. But if you're willing to pay a little, Transport is much better. http://www.panic.com/transmit/

I believe that will not help OP in any way.
He wants to change and that's it!

CyberDuck is my choice for FTP software for one reason: it's free. It's a great little app, easy to use and does everything I need from an FTP client.

I do all of my unzipping/untarballing (??) locally and simply upload HTML, CSS, PHP or image files when they're ready.

HI,
I have used cyberduck to recover some files that 'disappeared'. It worked. I discovered the 'invisible' files.
