i am looking to get a dedicated server and i need to know which are the best and the cheapest.

I've heard a lot of good things about www.rackshack.net. Although I've never used them a lot of people have had very good experiences, and $99 per month for a dedicated server isn't bad!

www.uk2.net also do some quite cheap servers.

what's the advantage of having a dedicatrd server?

I might setup a hosting company soon and I will use rackshack.net

Remember ... rackshack.net and those other companies are cheap because they are UNMANAGED.

If you do ANYTHING to the server, they will NOT help you. So unless you know exactly what you are doing, do not go for such companies.

I would recommend post at WHT and asking for some dedicated quotes WITH specifications of how much help you want.

Pretty much the one agreed to be best, fastest, and MOST helpful is rackspace.com .. but they cost a lot.

Right, unless you have the experience in managing your own server, otherwise, it will cost you problem. Eventually, you will cry like when my friend face.

When the server goes head wire and down for almost 7 days, all the clients demand for refund.

Unless you do have reasonable knowledge and than you have the financial ability, then, you should proceed to get a dedicated server.

Or alternatively, go for a provider that provide server management, but it is not cheap.

If you do get offers from companies offering managed servers, make sure they are absolutely clear on what they mean by the term "managed". Some careful shopping will reveal that many companies define that term quite differently.

You can not beat this forum for dedicated server offers or request. Post your need and they respond.
