Hey There,

I installed MAMP on my computer to test sites locally. I installed Wordpress locally and got that to work fine. Now however, I am starting to build up another site and want to test the new site out, but do not know how to structure the root folder in such a way that would allow me to preview the sites. I created a folder titled "wordpress" for the wordpress and "macftw" for the new site and now when I navigate to the root directory I get this screen:
http://i38.tinypic.com/zl999j.png
And when I click the "wordpress" folder I get the site, but it's completely un-styled as pictured:

Why is the wordpress site un-styled? I moved everything to that folder including the CSS files. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, if anyone knows of an introduction to this topic that I can read up on that would be awesome!

Thanks in advance! I really, really appreciate any and all help =)

You need to activate virtualHosts in the apache server, and to define the domain names that are associated with your server via an /etc/hosts modification.

Look here for detailed instructions:

Maybe you've used an absolute URL instead of a relative one, resulting in the CSS file not being loaded?

This looks more like a web design issue than a hosting/server issue to me.

lemondime, it looks your CSS doesn't get loaded. Could you copy/paste source of your WP blog (only section which includes css file)?

I don't have a solid grasp on file structure yet and I think that's why I wasn't able to get this to work. I'll keep trying though.

Sometimes that is recommended to reinstall everything. You might not noptice anything during previous installation. And that might not depend on you at all.
Just reinstall and that's it
