The hosting is told the best if they have the below 2 things.

- 24/7 live chat and email support
- faster and 99.9% or more servers

You are right. But at the same time that is personal and everyone has own criteria of the choice provider. All depends on the initial needs

there as many opinions as people over there. Plus you need to tell us about your current needs to understand what is needed for you because with diffrentv services you might have diffrent web hosting names

I host my websites with IGXHost, personally I think they are brilliant. They have Redhat Engineers as support people and as soon as they find out the problem they know exactly how to fix it. They also reply withing half hour.

IGXHost also use Litespeed servers instead of Apache which are proven to be faster

You know that is quite typical situation in here. But your friend with another kind of web site can be not happy with them at all. That is ok. And that doesn't ean your host is bad - that is real life as the same company can be good for everyone

Customer service is not everything. You have to make sure it is a stable company. Every kid knowing photoshop can build a briliant website and seem to offer a service.
Whenever looking for hosting you have to check the backgrounds of the company. When it was founded, positive and negative customer reviews. etc...

Sure, you are right. I believe we talk about real hosting companies here :-). Anyway, each customer has his own preferences on how to evaluate the company, and customer service would be one of main points.
