I use synhosting, and I'm very satisfied.
I recommend going with a smaller host, where you get better customer service. Especially when you're not that experienced.
I'd also stay away from offers that include huge amounts of disc space and band width for little money.
It's a bit like overselling airplanes in holiday season. Those hosts actually count on not everybody using everything they got promised. But if those other clients on your servers do, it's like all people who bought a ticket of an oversold plane, showed up (like it happened to me with "Air Canada")...
... you will be grounded with no seat on the plane/ you will get a slow website.
Also: customer service is expensive. One employee can only serve a limited number of customers well.
So, if it's cheap, they can't pay enough employees for proper service, and you will suffer. If your website is necessary for your business, I wouldn't try to save 50$ a year, and get lots of hassle in return.
