There is no denying the fact that hostgator is one of the most popular web companies.
Hostgator is good. I have been using them for almost 5 months. No downtime experienced though. REcommended!!!

I've noticed the same message on multiple forums.

I co-locate my servers with Sago Networks in Tampa, FL. I think they have website hosting plans too. I've been with them for over 8 years and I am very satisfied with them. Their network infrastructure is superb and their support team is awesome too.

I don't quite see your problem with lunarpages as everything seems to be fine or do you expext your site requirements will expand at a rapid pace?

Hello All there are many fraud companies , please be careful while looking for a hosting company make sure they all provide 24/7 technical support including chat support round the clock, i have been through hell being duped by these companies

If person is new to the web hosting world I assume that will be very difficult to realize what is scam and what is not

My servers are in the Host Dime Datacenter by way of their child company Surpass Hosting.

OP, nearly all companys have some sort of resource usage limits for shared hosting. A person can not get a large portion of the server resources to themselves because there are other accounts on that server. The host has to think of all their clients not just one. Regardless of a company overselling or not, they will have resource usage limits, either explicitly spelled out or just small line saying don't abuse them. You simply can not expect to get a dedicated server for shared hosting prices.

Hosts that are bashing overselling are generally tryin to bash their competitors in an attempt to gain business, or secretly oversell themselves but try to state they don't. Many hosts have sufficient resources available to them to oversell responsibly and give all customers their allocated resources should they need them.

More than likely you are not using anywhere near the amount of server resources that will get you suspended, and if you start to get up there many hosts will contact you and recommend you upgrade to a VPS or dedicatred solution before outright suspendin you, unless there is a spike (such as a good digg) that they need to suspend it for to keep the server from crashing or throwing some other type of wobbly.

So which web host are you currently with? I am with Host Gator and I think there 1 of the best I've used in a long while. Customer service is so good, especially the 24/7 Live Chat people. Fix your problems instantly most of the times. Never had any downtime in a whole year.( not that I know of )

I had hostgator, they are great for shared hosting. But if you are looking for dedicated or VPS then there are plenty of good companies to go with. I like HostV for VPS.

It has gone down like only 4 times this year but you get tons of bandwidth. When it goes down though its only for a hour or two because they have a backbone server they switch to.

There are many different hosting companies besides those ones listed. All those pay big affiliate fees and oversell their services in most cases.
