Hi,

Big question, but a simple answer. Depending in the company you choose, a Paid Hosting is always better than free because you have support and people that care about you.

In free hosting you are by your step, sometimes alone, when happens a problem you don't have Help as guaranteed.

Nowadays a Good Hosting is cheaper and you have a lot of offers in the market. Only you need is to thing smart and choose a good company.

If you want help let me know

Regards

Free hosting may not be 'free' like we say unlimited has limits. They will put adds or banners on your site. And most important negative point is that you can't demand support with free hosting. Pros are like if you are going to start your web experience with some less important site like hobby sites which can afford down times free hosting can be a good option.
Paid hosting also has its merits and demerits. But that depends on the selection of your provider. You can demand support in paid hosting since you are paying for the services. You may or may not get quality support, there the point comes which emphasizes the point of selection of your provider. You should do a thorough research before you select one.

Also with paid hosting, you are most likely to get more powerful servers than with free hosting.

Free hosting is really very basic. If you value your website, go for paid hosting.

If you are really serious about the website you are going to host free hosting is not recommended. Free hosting is gimmick to attract customers. Most of the features and services are disabled and they will tell you to pay for them in order to activate them. For example, you can not forward a domain and you might have to purchase one from them...

Agree with all the above comment.
paid hosting nowaday is selling at such a low price
Price for a cup of coffee is anytime higher compare to a month of hosting
just pay a little bit for your hosting provider and you can spend more time relaxing and enjoying your coffee.

GOOD or GOOD ?

For the customer of free web hosting you cave more minuses then pluses:
- you can be switched off any time
- your web site might be taken for the hoster's needs
- one day you may lose what you had with free web hosting provider

While on this topic, has anyone ever found a Free Webhost that supports features like fsockopen for example? (most don't support it). I have a couple of contact forms done in php, and they won't work on a couple of different free hosts because of that support (I think it's the fsockopen feature) that doesn't allow it to install. Point being, does anyone use a free host, and have a contact form or for that matter any php script that requires a MySQL db? Awaiting replies on this one.

Free hosting is generally overcrowded and hackers tend to give it an try and hack it as its free and they can upload shells onto it.

Free hosting providers do not have any responsibilities, so they could go down and even do not tell you. Free hosting is only good for non-commercial amd small personal websites. Exception is the free accounts from paid hosting.

Great Post, Why would you get free hosting when you can get reliable hosting for as low as 4$ per month. It's not a big investment.

The thing with free hosting is you generally won't get, nor be able to make, backups of your site. So once you outgrow the petty amount of resources you get with free hosting, you will be unable to transfer to any paid hosting. And the banners they place on your site.....yeah. Why give all that money you could get from affiliate banners, and potentially real advertisers, to them, when you could invest as little as $4 (you can get cheaper, but I wouldn't really recommend it unless they are small packages, under 1 GB Disk Space and 2GB BAndwidth). Seems like a small investment into something that may have the ability to produce thousands of dollars a day if done CORRECTLY.

Free hosting does not offer support, bandwidth is limited and slow, easy to configure and offers online template for your website design. ( Nice for personal blog/site.)

Paid hosting offers support, need to have a background knowledge in web server setup and website design, bandwidth is reliable and fast and lastly some paid hosting are not cheap. ( Great for Business websites.)
