free hosting sometimes do has some ads but you will never gonna be benefited with the ads instead the ads on the free ones will only be benefited on the hosting itself. While on the paid hosting you are totally in control of everything. the way you set it up. plus like what other have said it has a technical support.

Hosting is so cheap now -- paying up is worth it.

free has to be either a subdomain of the free hosters site or it can be at co.nr either way its not as good. you don't get many of the features like much bandwith or space.

Free hosting is never really "free" and you will never get the same support. Generally, they use subdomains, which looks terribly unprofessional. They may also use Ads which is just as bad.

If your looking for a cheap way to host a small site, look into nearlyfreespeech.net. I have suggested that to a number of people and they have been very happy with their services. The pricing is very good and there are no contracts.

Free hosting means you can launch your website using their server for free and paid hosting means you have to pay monthly fee for using their servers. Free hosting sometimes don't have good support while paid hosting have.

Free hosting does not have good uptime.
My hostgator has always uptime.

sometimes or all the times when you use free hosting the ads there is not credited to you instead it credited on the hosting company. while in a paid hosting you have control of everything even the ads will go directly to you if you put some adsense on it.

Go paid. They are more responsible as they are taking ypur money. However there are hosting which are paid but having free accounts, like 7host.com, and have a good service quality on both.

Sometimes cheap but paid web hosting could be considered as worse service then free web hosting service form some providers

Well, the advantages (perhaps the most obvious one ), is that Free Web Hosting is FREE. In fact, quite a few of them offer decent packages with decent Bandwidth, Disk Space for Websites that are either just starting off and/or have low traffic coming to them.
The disadvantages are quite a few of them. From what I have seen, most of them do not offer any kind of Support, which according to me is justified, considering that they aren't charging a single cent for their services. Secondly, quite a few of them do not offer Databases with their Free Web Hosting Plans, which, as I said, might be ok for websites that are just starting up, but they may want DB support later on.
The Drawbacks of Paid Hosting differ from Provider to Provider. While some of them may offer you exceptional Support, others may not be up to the mark. Also, there is a vast variation in the technologies supported by Web Hosting packages being offered by various Providers. It is wrong to point out any disadvantages of Paid Web Hosting compared to Free Web Hosting, simply because you really get a lot more these days by simply paying a couple of dollars per month.

Free hosting is usually unreliable. It is really hard to find a good free host and they usually all shut down after awhile. Paid hosting can still be unreliable and you have to be careful with the host you pick. It is good to read reviews about a host before you sign up with them, that is what I usually do.
