What is a really good webhost that i can host in? For example a Bands' page? That all types of codes are available like jc css html, somethign i can make a really good page out of.

I used 000webhost.com, and they were good for a free host.

Believe it or not, Andrei did post something helpful. He is saying that free web hosts are pretty much never a good solution for any hosting need. They are unreliable, slow, lack support, uptime stinks, and probably about 100 other things.

You can find really cheap hosting thats light years better than free hosting.

Like someone said 000webhost.com is a good one with no ads. But recently when I signed up with them and tried to install a blog (wordpress) via their free scripts, it gave a message that they were in the process of upgrading their scripts and it will take a month or two to complete it. That's the kind of painful support you most probably get with almost all the free web hosts.

Another is freeweb7.com. But they have these sentences in their Terms of Service "As a free user of our services, we may require that you display our ads at some point. If that will happen, you should not "hide", "cover-up", "kill", or modify our ads in any way. Please note that we have no intention of displaying any ads anytime soon."

The bottom line is almost all of the free web hosts offer the free services expecting something in return from you. They might throw a couple of ads on your site once it is big and getting good traffic or ask you to upgrade your account to a paid one quoting that your site is using excessive CPU resources.

I wouldn't use free hosting for my blogs if I am serious about them. There are many cheap and good hosting deals running on many webmaster and web hosting forums. If you can spend one dollar a month, you can find some good hosts with good features, good support and 99.9% uptime.

Wordpress and PHPLD with the very low traffic (<5/day) is deleted with out warning and can not bring it back.

Regardless of what you think - and how stuck up you want to be about it, you're never going to find a Free Host that will match up to any paid host. Just do the math. If there aren't ads on the website, how in the world are they getting profit. Servers cost money, even paid hosts suffer from trying to meet deadlines. The answer is, they cut corners. They do it in order to ensure that they do make SOME money.

Support is going to be a great issue. Also, the servers you may be placed on will probably be overcrowded with hundreds of other accounts. They'll have to be really tight to make a profit. So tight, they squeak when they walk .

Do what you want. But there is no Best Free Webhosting.

Okay, okay, so I guess you're right. Never compare free hosts to paid hosts of course.

But for those of us who are new to the web and want to learn and grow on the internet (or just simply have no budget at all), free hosts give the perfect opportunity. 000webhost has never given me problems, though I've heard plenty of other people complain. But I just have to say, use crap if you can't afford anything else, and 000webhost seems to be the best crap to me.

Your sites are never going to be taken seriously on a free host.

If you want to play and have a hobby fine, use them.

I'm betting there is something you could do without to pay the small amount real hosting costs. Currently is is about 25% of what it was 9 years ago.

Exactly. My current site will never be taken seriously anyway. Maybe when one day I have learned enough to build an actual website, I will pay.

I suppose that free web hosting service is good itself and that is not really right to divide it into the good and the bad ones.

With free web host everyone knows what he deal with. Just a bit funny to read negative reviews of free web hosting providers.

Free web hosting that is separate thing to the web hosting services. Really. You need to understand that. That is service you can't be sure about

Sometimes I wanted to try free webhost but somehow I'm getting scared that it might not be free all of a sudden. Will it delete the site I made when that happen?
